- The narration introduces Herod the Great as "an Arab of the Bedouin tribe", tying the massacre of Bethlehem's infants and the tyranny of his house to Arab lineage. Herod was as much Jewish as Arab: Idumean on his father's side, Nabatean Arab through his mother, and a practising Jew who ruled Judea as its king. The film names only the half that carries the menace.
