- Palestinian hijackers seize American Travelways Flight 282 and divert it to Beirut, going through the passengers' passports to separate out the Jewish travellers and a Catholic priest. A US commando unit tracks the hostages to Beirut, frees them, and kills the hijackers' leader in hand-to-hand combat.
