- The Arabs are the rebel brothers Ben Ali and Abdullah: one attacks a Legion outpost, kills a parachutist, and tries to murder a wounded captain in his bed before being executed; the other smuggles automatic weapons, kidnaps the hero and heroine, and raises an uprising timed to France's moment of weakness, which the Legion parachutes in to wipe out. The only other Arab role is Hassan, a fortune-telling sand diviner.
