- In the invented oil kingdom of Araband, the sultan's trusted adviser Kuda is a schemer secretly serving Nazi agents who plots to marry the princess for her oil lands; Princess Patra is the exotic oil-rich prize at the story's center, her lands only "safe" once leased to Americans, though she is written clever enough to outwit her suitors.
