- The Egyptian Radu is a murderous mesmerist who keeps the girl Ma prisoner in a desert tomb and later stalks her across Europe with his dagger. Ma herself is the captive Oriental girl, freed from one master only to be remade as a stage exotic performing Middle Eastern dances for European audiences.
