- Two American lounge singers are booked to perform in the fictional country of Ishtar, where they are caught between the ruler, Emir Yousef, and a band of left-wing guerrillas, both of whom want an ancient map that has ended up in the singers' hands. In the desert stretch, one of them buys a blind camel by mistake and the pair wander lost with it.
