The film's Arabs surface in passing and always on the Axis side: Tuareg tribesmen in league with the Germans barter two captives to the commandos for guns and ammunition, and a captured document has the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem pledging Egyptian officers to a "holy war" against the British, on the theory that conquering Egypt would swing the remaining Muslim states behind the Nazis.
