- Egypt supplies both ancient and modern menace: the high priest Imhotep, buried alive for treachery, revives as a plague-summoning monster who kills the living to rebuild his own flesh. The modern Cairo scenes open with a corrupt prison warden bargaining away a condemned man's life.
