- Palestinians are personified by Khalil, a master bomb-maker whose device targets a Middle East peace advocate, and by desert guerrilla training camps; the film lets Palestinian characters voice grievances over occupation and insist they oppose Zionism rather than Jews, but on screen their cause is expressed almost entirely through bombs.
