- Though the story is Spanish court intrigue, its opening plants Arab villainy in the Moroccan desert: brigands under Abdul bin Mustafa ambush the caravan escorting Spain's ambassador, and the sultan's champion, the Spaniard Captain Carlos, cuts them all down, leaving Arabs on screen only as raiders and the corpses they become.
