- The Rif tribes mass as a faceless horde plotting to sack a Legion city, their leader Khalid Hussein taking a bride purely to cement a war alliance. Mahla, the Arab bride, is kidnapped by the American hero and falls in love with her abductor, and her tribe deserts Hussein mid-wedding.
