- Modern Egypt greets the Egyptologist heroine with murder: she watches an art dealer killed soon after arriving and is then hunted from Cairo to Luxor by Egyptian black marketeers guarding tomb treasure. Egyptians appear as crooked dealers, grave robbers, and killers amid their own antiquities.
