The Arab camel drivers testing camels for the US Army, led by Hi Jolly, are branded 'heathens' and 'monkeys': a cowboy mocks their sunset prayer, tries to force pork on them, and horsewhips them when they refuse, beating all four when they draw blades in self-defense; only the expedition leader speaks up for them.
