- The Sheik is a lustful harem tyrant: he shops for a new concubine through the slave dealer Achmed, condemns his favourite for loving a merchant, and on discovering betrayals stabs both his own son and the dancer he coveted before being knifed himself. Arab women exist as harem inventory to be sold, ogled, and punished.
