- The Sultan of Hatay is the buyable potentate: offered a chest of gold he waves it away, then lends the Nazis his soldiers and equipment in exchange for a Rolls-Royce. Early menace comes from the fez-wearing, dagger-carrying Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword, and the Egyptian sidekick Sallah serves as comic relief.
