- The bandit chief El-Marish robs Western travelers, shoots his own men rather than split the money, lies to villagers about the crime, massacres Tunisian soldiers and Africans, and strips his half-Arab captive Joanna in an attempted rape, drawing her cries of pig and swine. Joanna's mother finally shoots the bandit dead, and Joanna rides away with Bill, the fair-haired Western hero.
