- The Palestinians are a fighting unit who kidnap an Israeli soldier during the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Unusually, they are individualized rather than faceless: captors and captive bond over a shared devotion to the Italian national football team as the World Cup unfolds, though the alliance ends in tragedy.
