- The villain is Roxor, an Egyptian megalomaniac played by Bela Lugosi, who kidnaps an American inventor and his family to extort a death ray for world domination; the sympathetic Egyptian, Princess Nadji, exists chiefly to be abducted and rescued by the white mystic hero.
