- In this French animated Aladdin the heavies are played for laughs rather than menace: a black-bearded, huge-nosed "Great Magician of Egypt" schemes from inside the Sphinx's eye to seize the lamp and the princess, while a Grand Vizier angles to win her for his rich son; the Arab leads are sympathetic, with Aladdin swearing by Allah to rescue the princess and his mother, an attractive veiled woman, joining the wedding celebration.
